FAQ

Q1: Can this equipment perform all IPX1 to IPX6 tests? Does it require manual switching?

A: Yes. The Rain Spray Test Chamber integrates drip tray, oscillating tube, and high-pressure jet systems. To test different ratings, you need to manually change the oscillating tube radius or the spray nozzle. However, standard parameters for each rating are prestored in the control system – simply select the test mode on the touch screen and the system runs automatically.

Q2: What air supply is required for the IPX1/2 drip tray drying function?

A: The customer must provide compressed air at approximately 0.4-0.6 MPa to blow dry residual water from the drip tray after testing, preventing scale build-up and nozzle clogging. The chamber does not include an air compressor.

Q3: How does the turntable perform the 15° tilt test for IPX2?

A: The turntable can be manually tilted to a fixed 15° position. IPX2 requires the specimen to be tested at four perpendicular tilted positions, each for 2.5 minutes. The operator can manually rotate the turntable to each position, or use the programmable forward/reverse alternating function with dwell time.

Q4: How do I choose the oscillating tube radius?

A: The radius should be as close as possible to the specimen's dimensions, but not smaller than the specimen's radius. This chamber comes standard with R200 mm and R400 mm oscillating tubes, covering most small to medium samples. Larger radii (R600-R1600 mm) are available on request.

Q5: Can the chamber provide power to the test sample?

A: Yes. There is a 50 mm cable port with a rubber plug on the side of the chamber. You can feed your sample's power cord through this port and connect it to an external power source (provided by the customer). The turntable supports forward/reverse alternating rotation to effectively prevent cable twisting.
